I. The centre

A centre, not a business.

Our doors opened in 1994 and we have been part of this street ever since. Parents leave their children with us in the morning knowing who is holding them and what they will learn before home time.

What we ask of a parent is what it costs to feed, teach and keep a child safe for the day. Nothing more. Our practitioners are from Rosedale, and the families we serve are our neighbours.

Safe
A secure yard, a register signed every day, and a practitioner present for every arrival and collection.
Ready
A daily programme built on play, language and school readiness, so a child walks into Grade R able to cope.
Ours
A centre the street is proud of, run by people who live here and know these families by name.
II. Programme

Every room has a colour.

Six classes, each with its own colour. The door of every classroom is painted in that colour, so a child knows their own room from the yard.

III. Daily rhythm

The same order, every day.

Small children settle when the day is predictable. Ours runs from the register in the morning to the last child collected from the classroom in the evening.

The same faces, every single morning.

Seven practitioners, alongside the office staff who keep the centre running. They know each child’s name, which parent fetches them, and what settles them on a hard day.
